SOM WEEK

SoAB or School of Accountancy and Business turned into SoM or School of Management. I do prefer the former because where’s the Accountancy in Management? Although they said that Management refers to the four courses: Accountancy, Business Management, Marketing and Tourism, I didn’t like it.Of course, we're very excited for this week, because we don't have classes, were just gonna have fun for the rest of the week and we're going home early. As a freshman, I was really excited in this event since this would be our first time. My block mates and I didn't have any idea on what's going to happen.Even I didn't attended any events, I can say this event was the best, I can see on my classmate, and it's fun and memorable.

After the program was ended which was just a start, there were more activities to come like the sports fest. I really enjoyed watching those games especially the men's basketball match between the Accountancy students against the Tourism Management. It was really heart-stopping game between both teams. All cheers was heard inside the gym until the very end as Accountancy student takes their first win.

There was also a Halloween Movie Marathon which was organized by the Tourism Management students. I also watched those scary movies with my blockmates and it was very thrilly but not that scary movie.

SOM Week was a great week. It didn't turned out to be the way we thought it would be, but that week made us closer to each other. It made our bond stronger, we got to know each other better and we learned to trust each other in the point that we shared each other our secrets that we've been holding to ourselves for so long. SOM Week was really a week for "US".

Hero?

A anime turn into a movie.
Parasyte Part I

A Japanese teen manages to stop an alien infection before it spreads to his brain, but is then forced to coexist with the mutant creature when it takes control of his right arm in “Parasyte.” Part horror movie, part buddy comedy and part superhero origin story, this clever twist on the classic body-snatcher formula.

Instead of casting an over-the-top local comic in the head, he centers the action on a relatably normal kid, Shinichi Izumi. When a shower of glowing space orbs falls around Tokyo, the gross, brain-seeking ear-worms that emerge go looking for human hosts, but the creepy-crawler that finds Shinichi is thwarted by his headphones, entering his body via his right hand instead.
Well it's literally about aliens that's supposed to conquer the world. They are disguise as a human in form by eating their hosts brain. Once they eaten their hosts brain they will start to form or imitate the hosts head and face and once they done that they'll start to take over the hosts body. But the hero named "Shuichi" has prevented the alien that's supposed to eat his brain and what the alien did was it ate his right arm instead. Shuichi and the alien doesn't have a choice but to live together cause the alien ate his right arm right? So the alien became his right arm. Then shuichi named the alien "Migi" meaning right, pertaining to his right arm. Shuichi and Migi met a few kinds(aliens) of Migi. That's when they learned that Migi wasn't alone, that a bunch of alien came here in this world, and their mission was to slaughter man kind to lessen it's population.…

Stop It!

Many believes the smoking helps people to release stress, to avoid boredom and many more. Most of people these days smoke, without knowing the consequences that may happen soon, because of the trend or maybe just because it looks cool or another reason is because they are under rebellion. Smoking helps depressed people to express their lament but is smoking really their friend?

About 23 percent of all adults are smokers. This fact seems dwarfed when you hear that 30 percent of adolescents use some sort of tobacco. In fact, statistics show that the average age for first using tobacco is 13. This means that the majority of all tobacco users started when they were a teenager. Cigarette smoke contains around 4,800 chemicals, 69 of those can cause cancer. The effects of smoking are common and dangerous but what most people don't realize, smoking is just as bad. Authority figures need to set up limitations for tobacco use and combat young age smoking.

Why do teens start smoking? Sometimes, I ask my friends why they smoke and they gave me many reasons. Some of these are My friends smoke, It’s my stress reliever, I’m broken hearted, I just wanted to try it, I thought it was cool
After asking, I just gave them some advice because I’m a concerned friend here and I think that’s the only way I can do at this moment.

To the people who smoke, guys you are not kids anymore. You already know how to reason out so its very hard to persuade you, try to have the initiative to do something to stop the addiction.

ANG TATAY MONG KALBO

Last October 9, 2015,we were asked to watch this theater play "Ang Tatay Mong Kalbo" presented by Teatro Phileo which was written by Isagani Cruz. It was held at the MPH1. This is the second time first time I watched a kind of theatrical play that has a genre of Absurdity. Watching it once was not enough for me that's why I watched it again on October 10, 2015. Not to the fact that I really don't get the play or the plot or anything at all but I had fun watching it the other day because of the characters who played the roles. Their emotions was just really felt by the audience but honestly and sadly I liked the show last October 9, 2015 than October 10, 2015. Maybe because the audience was not that "in" the play or maybe they had a hard time pondering what the play really mean.

Honestly speaking, I can’t say much of it because I didn't understand the play. I don't know what the story was all about. Before the play begins, the director already said that it's not a typical play, not that it’s nonsense, but it's difficult to get the point of the story.

Well, the way the actors and actresses act out their role is truly awesome. Their clothes, their make-ups, and the facial expressions are all perfect. They all did well. The atmosphere and ambiance of the play was also good. I enjoyed it!

The Right Turn

Turn Left Turn Tight is based on the best-selling illustrated love story of the same name by renowned Taiwanese author/artist, Jimmy Liao.

The story tells of two people who live in buildings right next to each other, separated only by a wall, and are always near each other but can't seem to find one another.
John Liu (Takeshi Kaneshiro) is a violinist who works from job to job. During one of his gigs, he meets June, who offers to give him a ride home. However she flirts aggressively with John during the ride which frightens him. To get away from her he jumps out of her car and makes a run for his apartment building. The next day he sees her waiting for him on the left corner of his building which makes him avoid going to the left of his building.
The life of John and Eve is empty and they are missing something. Although there is a good chance, another time. Unfortunately, whatever they do, they are always just out of contact with each other. When one turns left, the other turns right.
